Advisory
for places.
Audit a place, reveal its story, set its art direction. Independent advice, before anything is bought.
Understand before acting.
A place often already has its architect, its furniture, sometimes its collection. What it lacks is a story and a direction: what it tells, what it keeps, what it should become.
Advisory is a pure consulting assignment. We audit, we write the story of the place, we set its style. You then decide whether to bring it to life with us, with your own teams or with others.
Audit, story,
direction.
Read the place as it is.
A visit of the spaces, an inventory of the artworks, furniture and objects in place. A reading of the architecture, the light, the uses and the clientele. What works, what is missing, what should go.
Find what the place has to say.
Its history, its territory, its founders, its clientele. A story that belongs to it, chapters for each space, and an identity guests recognise as they walk in and talk about as they leave.
Give the story its form.
A palette, materials, periods and families of artworks and design. References of artists and designers, principles of hanging and composition, space by space.
A direction
document.
An illustrated document that belongs to you:
- The auditThe current state and an inventory of what is already there.
- The storyThe identity of the place and its chapters, space by space.
- The art directionPalette, materials, references and mood boards.
- The recommendationsWhat we keep, move, replace or create, piece by piece.
- The roadmapBudget envelopes, the acquisition or leasing strategy, priorities and timeline.
Handed over in a presentation, in person or remotely.
Places with
a story to tell.
Hospitality
A hotel or restaurant preparing a renovation, a rebrand or a new season. A group looking for a shared identity across several addresses.
Workspace
A company that wants to express its culture, structure its collection or bring several offices into line.
Private
An owner, a collector or a family office who wants to give coherence to one or several residences, starting from what they already own.
Three to six weeks.
Conversation
Framing the place, the objectives and the scope.
Visit
A day on site, or more depending on the surface and the number of sites.
Audit, story and direction
The core work, from the current state to the style.
Presentation
Handing over the document and discussing the next steps.
Two rounds of revisions on the document are included.
Independent advice.
On an advisory assignment, Moon Above is paid by your fees alone. No commission, no margin, no imposed supplier.
If you then entrust the selection and delivery to Moon Above, it becomes a new assignment, and the advisory fees are deducted.
Advise · Curate · Deliver.
Advisory is the first step. Whenever you wish, Moon Above takes over: selection and visualisations, acquisition and installation, then the life of the collection over time.
Good to know.
Does advisory commit me to what follows?
No. The document is yours. You can bring it to life with Moon Above, with your own teams or with others.
How is this different from a branding agency?
An agency works on the logo and the communication. We work on the identity people experience in the place: what they see on the walls, what they touch, what they remember.
Can you work with our architect?
Yes. We work alongside them, on the story, the art and collectible design, without touching the architectural project.
We already have a collection. Is this for us?
It is the ideal case: we start from what you own to decide what stays, what moves and what is missing.
Are the fees deducted if we continue?
Yes, if the selection and delivery are entrusted to Moon Above within six months of the document being handed over.
Where do you work?
Across Europe and the Gulf, from Paris, London and Dubai.
